I grew these last year and we loved them. My older neighbor who's farmed and gardened for years, just laughed and laughed cz he'd never heard of asparagus or long beans. But he sure did enjoy eating them when we grew them :) They are a yummy, nuttier flavor than regular green beans :) Most Chinese restaurants use these on their buffets :) YUMMMMMMY!

The asparagus bean plant (Vigna unguiculata subsp. sesquipedalis), also known as yardlong bean, produces seeds inside foot-long pods, both of which are edible. Like pole beans, the stems on this tropical Asian vine twine around stakes or a trellis to stay off the ground.
