Milk Caps and Pogs are one and the same back in the twenties and thirties a circular piece of cardboard was used as a cap on juice and milk containers. The name Pog was a brand of juice made of passionate fruit, orange and guava . The caps (pogs) were used to play a game it is said that this game probably originated in Hawaii in the 1920s 1930s . The game became very popular worldwide in the early 90's. The game is quite simple it consists of two types of discs a POG and Slammer the pog is a flat circular cardboard disc they are colorful with designs or images. The slammer is heavier and made of metal, rubber or plastic the most common used is plastic they come in various thicknesses and weight . its diameter is similar to a pog . the game begins after the players agree on the rules and decide whether they are playing for keeps or not. Each player contributs an equal amount of pogs. The pogs are put into a stack face down. they make a line two or three feet from the stack . The first player pitches his ot her slammer at the stack hoping to knock it over and have some pogs turned face up if he or she is successful they collect all the Pogs facing up the remaining Pogs are then re stacked face down and it's the next players turn when all pogs in the stack are gone the one who has the most wins. In this auction there are more than 75 pogs and a dozen or more Slammers.. The game is still played today and there are various tournaments being played around the world.
