Oiled with Linseed Oil to protect surface.

Not necessary to keep oiling it since it will not be submerged in water. However, it can be re-oiled later if you desire. The oils from your hands will be sufficient to keep the item oiled.

I think it is so cool too! One neat thing I failed to mention, it is so easy to use that a person with arthritis can open mail with it very easily. My mom has the really weak hands of a person with rheumatoid and she tried it. Works great for her too!
