For ANYONE receiving government assistance, i.e. Food stamps, Medicaid etc. you can link with SAFELINK, which makes it even cheaper!! You can buy 30 minutes for $9.99 and you get 110 minutes. This IS a Smart Phone, just pay as you go. I get food stamps so I get free 110 minutes and I add $10 maybe once a month. This is perfect for anyone receiving government assistance or for anyone who wants to keep your phone charges cheap AND have a smartphone. You can't beat $10 a month!! Even if you use a lot, you may pay $20 or $30 a month, depending on usage. I bought this for $60 plus tax and I have ALL the paperwork to go with it. I don't know what straight talk is. You can talk to the phone and it records your email or whatever your doing-texting, notes etc. It has a speaker button at thee top that you hit. Get back to me if I'm talking about the wrong thing-Kim

Both. I connected it was Safelink because for me it was cheaper, but it can be linked with Tracfone also. I have all the pamphlets and the serial # to activate with either company.
