Description

The listing, **BEAUTIFUL BUTTERFLIES** has ended.

These 2 gorgeous creatures were found in the attic of a man in my town who lived with 12 cats, never saw him much unless he was walking to the store to buy cat food, he didn't drive a car, who never really cracked a smile and lived in a 9 bedroom immaculately kept home who had recently passed, had no family and was very strange...Turned out his "strangeness" was far from it, he was a very rich eccentric man who didn't work because he was born into money,,, we found out his story to be long, interesting, sad, and wonderful all in one. What a unique man with fantastic taste! So I'm thinking whenever I am selling something I bought at his Estate sale this past weekend, I'll say it belonged to "Phil".... we can just leave it at that. So if my fans are paying attention, they will know, the rest will think I'm the crazy one!!!!

The Large Butterfly is 6 1/2 inches long and 6 inches across. The smaller one is also 6 1/2 inches across but 4 inches...those measurements are from wing to wing...

I have no clue as to what they are made of but on the backs are Copyright MCMLXXI T7040 AND MCMLXXI T7401

They are very lightweight, detailed and feel fragile ... I just found them and they aren't worth a fortune, but are gorgeous. On the other hand I looked up another article I bought, worth 3 grand! YIKES! I've got a lot of looking up to to do now!

I can't remember for certain, but those are Roman numerals. I think it is 1971. M is 1,000, then CM is 900 L is 50 XX is 20, (each X is 10), added to the 50 which makes it 70 and I is 1. So you have the year 1971. That is if I remember 5 years of Latin. Very different and. the T401 is a catalog number probably.

I don't know if that helped or confused everyone. Probably Italian made. Just a guess. Now, you have a starting point for research.

So they are Homco Home interior figurines meant to be hung on a wall?

Thinking back, they used roman numerals for the dates on some of the older movies too.

It state Made in the USA on the back. These were made by Homco and sold in sets of 2 or 4. I have seen them in Gold also. They are plastic. Very nice pieces!

They feel like a plastic, but some different kind of plastic, like a ceramic type plastic....does that make sense?? Their really delicate, and I'd love to see them in gold!!!!!!! I'll bet those are pretty, too but I like the soft detail of these.
