Description

The listing, 35mm Minolta X-370 SLR with a lens and filter. has ended.

This is a 35mm Minolta X-370 SLR. I don't know the exact year this was made. I believe the late 70's to the early 80's.
Have taken some really great pics with this camera.
The shutter sticks on the "AUTO" setting - sometimes. Not always. But if you know how to use this camera without using the "AUTO" setting, this would be a great addition to a collection, or for a beginner.
I do not have the instruction manual, but have found some really good tutorials on YouTube.
I am sending the two small batteries (Energizer EPX76), mostly so they can be replaced by the same ones you will need to replace them with. I found that they still have a little juice left in them, but you will definitely want fresh ones. I don't think they are too expensive.
The new batteries may solve the shutter sticking. I can not say for sure though.
The placard that was over the winding lever is gone. As seen in picture #5.
Lens size is in the last picture - 50 mm 1:1.7

Very nice camera - Classic Minolta SLR - and there are TONS of great MD mount lenses avaialble for super cheap prices - the old Minolta Rokkor lenses are fantastic, and will all fit on this camera. Good luck all and thanks for listing an awesome camera!

lbarra101 This lens will not fit on your Canon T3 like it is now. They do sell adapters on the Bay and sites like that. The adapters work so you can put a Minolta lens on a Canon. Auto focus won't work.

I don't actually know that, but Dennis0311 above you has an answer. I think some people call those adapters 'bayonets' also. Like he said though that will take Auto focus off. Plus, this lens has some issues. Please read my update. Thank you!

Minolta now Konica Minolta still in business. They got out of the camera business in March of 2006. Sony took over Minolta's digital cameras but they will have no information on the film cameras.

i think thi si the minolta i used to have, so beautiful, so awesome, maybe it is something tht happened to these because someone i knew came over one day and switched his camera body for mine, i didn't put it together till my pics came back with the sticky shutter thing, nice camera, never realized that you could fix that problem, camera was stolen from someone else i knew befeor ei could figure out what to do about it! it is a really solid camera though. loved it, amazing pics from it.... good memories

You say the lens looks 'funny' - you mean 'foggy' or 'spiderwebby?"

joysargent: This is a 35mm film camera you have to get it devoloped. You can get them developed at Walgreens Wal-Mart and others. I get mine developed at Walgreens. You can take your film to Walgreens and they will put it on a disk so you can load it on a computer.

Yeah, it's a pretty expensive repair that would be done by a professional, usually only performed on really expensive glass as the repair often costs much more than the value of the lens. Mainly it's just important for bidders here to know that they're bidding on a camera with a fungusy lens - otherwise it would be a nasty surprise for the winning bidder :(

Disassembling the lens and very carefully cleaning the individual contaminated inner elements.

OK, this sounds pretty detailed, and I am nervous about it. I started the bid pretty low, so someone - like yourself, who sounds knowledgeable - can do just that! :)

if it looks foggy, that's called 'haze' - it's usually in the inner elements of the glass, and the lens needs to be disassembled to clean it off. if it looks like spiderwebs, that's called fungus - that's also usually in the inner elements of the lens, and can't be cleaned off without disassembling the lens. Unfortunately, both are pretty nasty for image quality, and lead to much lower-contrast images.

OK, spider webs. No fog. How can it be removed?
