These are super strong magnets. They are coated in nickel but they do shatter and can hurt you coming together, pinching your fingers (I speak from experience).These are not for children or for use around pets, but can be used for a variety of things, like getting rings fallen down a plastic drain, finding nails in a stud, finding out if something is made of metal or not...I don't know, but they are interesting to experiment with.
