The listing, 2 Iridescent Depression Glass Bowls has ended.

Carnival or Depression Glassware is one of the most highly collected items in the American marketplace. The bowls, sometimes called sherbet bowls, approximately 4 inches in diameter and 2.5 tall, sit upon low base. Photos 2-5 show the double handled bowl which may also be an olive bowl. The last or 9th photo shows the only flaw I found upon inspection-a small area where the coloring is missing. Otherwise bowls are old, used and without chips or cracks. Ship to verified addresses only. All Listia rules apply.

Depression glass is so lovely. It's one of my weak spots. Beautiful color!!! These would be lovely in my kitchen, my mother thinks I am crazy because, Yes, I would use these. I have a glass rolling pin and love using it. My aunt thinks I'm nuts. But why tuck it away, use it, take good care of it. Such beautiful pieces.

carnival glass got its name originally as taffita glass as to copy great glass house thru fuming. Tiffany,the big one and pre-corning glass one is Aurene,the other from Tiffany circa 1890 thru the present reproductions . Depression glass is always a solid color;pink; green,Ruby,cranberry and many other solid colors. Depression was given for buying certain products,kept the country at the time of the great depression;going people who had jobs, few at most made this and was sold for pennies in 1929-1935. Carnival glass was fumed like art glass houses,this is a different process from depression( hundreds of patterns and hundreds of glass makers. most notable was Fenton,Westmotrland; Northwood and many more.
