Questions & Comments

Im sorry but theses are 2gb sticks, 8gb total. The 4gb (2x2gb) means it is a kit of 2 2gb sticks to make 4gb, and since you have 2 sets that makes this 8gb total.

@reggieparris3 Ive been building computers since 2000 so dont tell me. Only an idiot would go touch a Crt type tv with memory in their hand. Get some experience then make your comments. This man has done nothing wrong by taking pictures of these without ESD bags @Memnon Thank you for the support. @chilakzu Thumbs up to you bud.

Reggie: You certainly are full of yourself. I would take shortstuff's computer knowledge over yours any day. Common sense handling of chips does not require ESD bags at all times, including storage. You have been reading too much science fiction.

And yes I say a CRT tv because an LCD or Plasma wont make the electric charge like a CRT type tv will, Because they dont charge the tube they put a charge to the Liquid crystal and or the plasma.

@reggieparris3 having them out is not going to damage them. Go to a pc shop and look at the boxes of ram that are just laying on top of each other. The antistatic bags are used for shipping purposes......

I know what a crt is but im not going to argue with a old ass computer technician, maybe back in the year 2000 they didn't have esd bags or you never knew how to use one but i graduated from a Microsoft school as a computer support technician so today standards, when equipment like a stick of ram isn't being used and is still good, your suppose to put it in a esd bag to protect it but obviously your old ass probably forgot What esd mean and how to use one

Oh and no you didnt cause if you did you wouldnt have had to look up what an esd bag was for on google.

But any of you want to try and gather some static electricity and touch nothing but a stick of ram then put it in your pc then turn it on and go into bios to see if that stick of ram shows up???

And if a local pc shop keeps exposed ram in a basket, then that's not wise and i wonder why they sell it for cheap, they must be ddr or the mb of the ram is small

Ok one of you Google it then but you don't have to take my advice, if you equipment stop working then it just stop working but like i said Google the information, im pretty sure i know what im talking about

And shortstuff, obviously your not smart in computers if you think esd bags are used only for shipping purpose, if you know mean esd means then i dont know what to tell you but esd stands for Electric Static Discharge but if you think your so right about what esd bags if used for then google what its used for

Shortstuff31930 what are you talking about, esd bags are for protection of the equipment. Ok get a stick of ram then gather up some static energy somehow like touching a tv when you turn it on or something then touch the stuck of RAM, i guarantee you that your going to fry the component and it wont work anymore
