--Planting: Prepare garden soil for planting after last frost. Make small mounds of soil about 5 feet apart. Each row should also be 5 feet away from next row. Plant 5 seeds per hill and 1/2 inch deep.

--Harvest: Harvest fruit any time before winter frost kills the actual plant. Be careful not to bruise when handling and wash in strong disinfectant. Lay out fruit so they do not touch one another, in a dry, well ventilated area. Turn regularly. Gourds should let dry for 3-4wks. Cab be waxed with floor wax for a shiny appearance for decoration.
