J.J. was the registered trademark of Jonette Jewelry Co. of East Providence, R.I. The company was founded about 1935 by Abraham Lisker as Providence Jewelry Co. and later changed names to Lisker & Lisker Inc. when Abraham's brother Nathan joined the company. The firm discontinued operations during WWII. After the war, Lisker restarted the company renaming the firm Jonette Jewelry Co. J.J. jewelry consisted primarily of figural and novelty pins. J.J. jewelry was marked J.J. with a copyright symbol preceding the initials. After 69 years Jonette Jewelry Co. ended production in September 2006.

Thanks for watching...I have more JJ brooches that I'll may be putting up for bid. Since this is fairly new to me I wanted to "test the waters" so to speak to see how well this works. If it goes well, I'll be adding more signed
& unsigned pieces from my vintage collection.

Being new to Listia - I appreciate comments and advice - so thanks much! I love vintage jewelry and actually starting collecting it in order to use some of the stones and vintage findings in my own handcrafted pieces. Because of this I have accumulated a great collection and consequently became very interested in the origins and makers. Thanks again....& fanned.

I was thinking the starting bid was a little high too. I like to end at about 5000-7000 for a signed Single JJ.

I'm new to Listia so I'm not quite familiar with the credit exchange rate. But I have been watching others on Listia, and have looked at other sites as well. Based on what I've seen I felt that the starting bid was fair....thanks much for your interest and your bid. Fanned back.
