Description

The listing, BREAK YOUR OWN GEODE!!! FIND A CRYSTAL SURPRISE!!! FREE SHIPPING!! has ended.

In this auction the winner will receive ONE unopened geode.
A geode is a geological rock formation that contains a cavity lined with crystals.
The most common find inside is clear quartz crystal, but some have colored crystals. There's no way to tell what's inside until you crack it open- but that's the fun part!!!
The best way to crack them open is to put it in an old sock and hit it with a hammer. These are so much fun!

Sizes approximately- 1 To 2 inches

You always have such nice auctions melissa and this is one is so cool. I have geodes my uncle collected from an area in iowa in the 1930's. Every few years we crack one and share them within the family. Already your fan :)

These are so awesome!! I got one as a bonus...I had no ides what it was or anything. My husband loomed at it, and said, just looms like a rock...then I saw your auction, and knew it was what I had. The next day I went outside with a towel & hammer, and it broke perfectly in half. It has the most beautiful quartz crystal all in it. OMG...I'm so glad I did'nt throw it away. I wouldn't have though, because I knew it was something just didn't know what. :•) Where do you find those?? Any particular state? They are awesome!! Fanned & watchin :•)

yeah, well, I don't know what that ramble was all about...but, F&W!! Great auction! Are they guaranteed to have a crystalline core? I was extremely disappointed when I was young and bought one, then when I very carefully broke it open, it was a solid chert-like rock all the way through...

That's what it says I cracked the smallest one and it had crystal in it. That would be so disappointing as a child

has everyone here seen my geodes ive posted, they are beautifull, the best way to cut a geode is by a diamond saw, you can cut them into slices, stick them in a tumbler machine and they come out like glass and yes there worth money. great auction i just hope its not a put in sock and break with a hammer, book that would be disrespecting the geode, it took millions of years to form and live it would be a shame to smash it to pieces, but im bidding anyway cuz i want to see whats it about. great auction

They are pretty cool! Ilove rocks of all sorts, im sure I have some good ones, I think they are rubies but they are surrounded by rock matter! Anyways the geodes are awesome! At our Renaissance Festival every year they have them! I bought a small one and it had clear and light purple in it but they break it for you in a ol tyme vice! They are very special I think! Nice auction I wish I had enough to bid! Love it!

While my husband was pastor at a church in idaho, we were taken hiking up a mountain and looked for these. But our friends who grew up there called them thunder rocks. I can't remember why but they did. We loved them. F&W

We usually found them in dried up creek beds. Some where already split. If we found one in a round shape we would crack it sometimes we'd find a cool geode sometimes just a plain rock lol
