Description

The listing, Love Lies Bleeding/Amaranthus caudatus (organically grown) has ended.

25+ Seeds (please note I ship on Mondays only, thanks!)

This is one of the most amazing flowers I have grown! They are fun, easy to grow and simply spell-binding!

This Amaranth reaches from 3 to 8 feet high and sets out beautiful cascading magenta tassels that are velvety and long lasting. Perfect for spectacular flower arrangements or LIVING ART in the garden!

Grown as an annual in Zones 2 thru 11, this wonderful self-seeder will return with a spectacular encore each spring.

Direct sow in spring after danger of frost or grow in containers for a stunning and unusual potted plant, especially when hanging.

It does best in full sun and can handle a variety of conditions, both humid and arid. The blooms are said to have the best color when planted in poor soil.

The tassels can be dried when picked early.

100% organically grown. I use only organic compost and fertilizers. NO chemicals or pesticides ever used in my garden!

Hi
Could I grow this year round in my home?

Hi, it is mostly grown as an annual that re-seeds itself each spring. However, if you live in a very moderate, warm area that does not get frost (and you cut the plant back) I imagine it would keep growing and re-seeding throughout the year. However, for the most part, it is a tender rather herbaceous plant that bursts with tassels and then dies down when the cold hits, and again, reappears next season.
