My wife has this same dress. She paid quite a bit for it. She only got to wear hers a couple of times because it wasn't very color fast in the wash. It faded very rapidly. She contacted the company that made the dress and complained. They said the dress had been recalled and to take it back to the store for a refund, which we did.

This dress is not brand new. It has been washed a number of times. I have had no problems with it. Maybe it was the type of detergent your wife used. This color has stayed. I have worn this one time, however it was not brand new when I acquired it. I am quite sure the winner will not have problems with fading on this dress.

That tag has been removed. I am really not sure. It is a flimsy, smooth and almost a slippery material. I really believe it may be polyester.. I'm sorry I don't know for sure.. I hope this helps. It is a really pretty and flattering dress.. It is just a smidge too tight on me..

so what does it measure flat across the bust or arm pit to arm pit (when laid flat) for example I'm 19" across arm pit to arm pit ...and just under bust? Im sorry for all the hassle...

That's no problem.. I laid the dress flat, and it's measuring just under 17 across.. The material is flimsy and difficult to get an accurate measurement. The bodice as gathers in it to accommodate varying sizes. I measured the elastic band just under the bust. It stretches to about 40 inches all away around. The waist stretches up to 40 inches. The bust is harder to estimate bc of the flimsy material. The cups would hold from a C to a full D in my estimate bc of the material. I tried to get the best measurements possible, it looks like it would stretch to around 38, however the cups do expand and allows for varying sizes.. I hope this helps...
