Description

The listing, 2PC OF DRAGON WARE, DRAGONWARE has ended.

The first piece is a dragon ware saucer. It does not go with the cup I am also offering. The saucer has some damage. It doesn't show when face up, but if you turn the saucer over onto the back, it looks like someone glued a crack across it. The front side doesn't show this and has nice slip decoration of the dragon. it will still display nicely.
The second piece is not a companion piece. It is an older piece of dragon ware. The cup is small, measuring 2 1/2 inches across the opening and 2 inches high. The background color is a soft gray. The slip decoration is not as intense as on the other piece. It is simply a dragon done in white, brown and orange colors. Simply marked on the bottom "Japan". No damage, no missing slip. The saucer is marked on bottom made in Japan.

I am looking for Lowes, Home Depot and Walmart gift cards with a REASONABLE GIN. I don't mind paying around 5000 credits extra for the gin but I feel most listians have gotten greedy when it comes to gift cards and want double what the face value of the gift card is. I refuse to pay this much. Maybe if others agreed and didn't bid that much sellers would get reasonable gins up there. My opinion anyway. So if you list with a reasonable gin let me know and I will bid.

Boy do I agree with that!! (sorry, the gift card thang!) I like to use Amazon cards, but, the cards in the 'Rewards Auctions' are universally overpriced! And then, after you pay their price, it takes them 3-5 days sometimes to deliver them DIGITALLY!!

OK, enough Rant! What's the story behind Dragonware? Is it really old?

dragonware is from early 1900s
these pieces from around 1950. Some a little earlier. They are slip decorated with raised dragons, come in many colors, the gray and black most common.
Some of the tea cups have a geisha girl lithopane in the bottom of the cups. More desirable than with none. Very rare are the ones with a nude in the bottom of the teacup cost $50 and up on ebay if you can find one.
I collected it for years, now I a pearing down my collection.
I will be listing some Coffee size cup and saucers no geisha, usually you get the demi cups these are full size and I have 4 sets. I will also be listing 2 small cabinet blue vases . Colors are harder to find and more expensive. These are mini size.
Hope you got your pottery, did you have a chance to see the blue one I have on etsy?
thanks for
