I'm hoping for you. To help you out I've had gpu very similar to this and it would run the newest pc games on medium to medium high with little to no lag. Two other great things about it is that you wnt need to upgrade your power supply and it has an hdmi out so you can hook it up to your hdtv and watch shows and movies in full 1080p HD.

I got a higher powered GPU. I wanted faster computation power.
but this one has definitely got the RAM. it does very well with movies and most high end graphical games. I seriously debated keeping it. but decided to put it on here. hope it finds a good home. it's date of manufacture is July 2013. so it's really not that old at all.

you would have to look it up and compare. but from the top of my head, I'd say yes on some things and maybe no on others. GPU's are used for more things than just graphics.

I bow out mexlokote is an %$^ who will more than likely place it on ebay sell it for about 150/200 where as I would have used it for what it was intended for game development. I've tried....It was a great auction but when it comes down to bidding to turn around and sell it off on ebay or something is where I get downright angry.

it did not come out of any particular machine.
I ordered it new off of e-bay a while back, but since upgraded to a bigger GPU is all.

it's one slot wide, and runs entirely off the motherboard that it plugs in to.
no additional PCIe power required.
