Amethyst birthstone ring. Sterling silver. Size 7. Stamped 925 inside the band. Very pretty ring. Was given as a gift but my birthday birthstone is aquamarine.

Amethyst is my birthstone so I am all too aware of how hard it is to catch its true color on camera. I only say that because it looks red, not purple. Is it actually purple?

When it was given to me I was told it was amethyst from some angles it does look red but if you hold it up to the light and look through the back of the stone it looks purple so I can try and get it up closer picture if you would like just let me know and I'll add some

That's ok. As long as its purple to the eye. Sometimes amethyst even photograph as a blue color. They're funny that way. Yours must be a darker shade. Thank you!
