Description

The listing, Heirloom ✽ BOXCAR WILLIE ✽ All-Purpose Tomato ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

This is very productive heirloom that produces 10-15 ounce fruits. The tomatoes are red in color with dark orange undertones, extremely juicy, and have that good, old fashioned flavor! A great slicing and canning tomato. I had so many this year that I used them for an amazing canned marinara. These would also be perfect for tomato juice. Very disease resistant and productive even in the 2012 record high heat and drought of the midwest.

Days: 80
Size: Indeterminate
Color: Red
Season: Late-Season
Type: OP Heirloom
Uses: slicing, canning

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail for FREE in the United States. I only take Paypal for International bidders. I will also combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional shipping charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.

I've barely made a dent in the varieties. There are still so many that I want to grow.
