The listing, Antique Porcelain Hand-painted Japanese Teapot has ended.
Exquisite Hand Painted Japanese Teapot with gold leaf highlights. Teapot date to somewhere between 1921 and 1941 when the US government no longer accepted "Nippon" for Japan but still required a stamp with country of maker. Also after 1941 the label turned to "occupied Japan". This pot measures 5.5 inches tall and about 7 inches from spout to handle. A matching lid fits nicely. Stamped on the bottom in a circle it reads " Made IN JAPAN HAND PAINTED" In the middle of the circle there is a stamped picture of a paintbrush with the letter"p" placed perpendicular to the paintbrush. There is a chip on the very end of the spout, as showl in pictures 5 and 6. There are ways to have this repaired, sanded and recoated, but I know nothing of the cost or where to find such. It is still very beautiful and has value.
