what is a patch knife you ask!

well, back in the day,
this style of fixed blade knife
was most generally used for
cutting the cloth patches
that one would stuff down the
barrel of a black powder rifle.
this was done to hold in the
metal ball (bullet), after pouring
the gun powder in the barrel.
otherwise, the danged ole ball, well....
it would just fall out.
that wouldn't be a good thang, would it?

this is a full tang fixed blade
knife with wood handles
and brass pins
it comes with a beautifully tooled
leather sheath.
the sheath has wooden beads
dangling down.
