Today I have a Craftsman AC Voltage Detector. This item detects AC voltage in and around the home up to 600 volts. It uses 2 AAA batteries not included. As seen in picture 2, just wave close to a wall outlet and it detects the voltage. This little gadget is a great item for around the house, every home should have one. When your not sure if a wire or receptacle is hot, just wave this voltage detector near it and if it lights up and makes a buzzing sound, you now know its hot with voltage. I can't tell you how many times I wish I had one of these, my fan stopped working and immediately I blamed the wall outlet and plugged the fan in another outlet only to find out the fan had expired. This is a great little gadget that every home should have, especially the do it yourself homeowner who likes to do minor electrical work like changing a ceiling fan or light fixture, it takes the doubt out of grabbing a live wire. remember safety first. .
