Up for auction is this regal 18K gold filled ring size 7.5. The brilliant pear cut ebony onyx is lovely. Fifteen additional marquis and baguette cut onyx form a crown above the main stone. Fourteen shining round cut white topaz form a pear shape in the middle of the ring. Onyx is the birthstone of February and topaz is that of November.

These stones are laboratory created, but their properties, chemical, optical and physical, are identical to that of naturally occurring stones. Man made gems are much hardier than their naturally occurring cousins, not so subject to temperature change, drying out, cracking or grazing.

Gold filled jewelry is gold mixed with with a base metal.
Adding other metals to the mix also allows metallurgists to change the color of gold. You'll find examples of pure gold jewelry, but pure gold is soft and isn't practical for daily wear. Other metals are mixed with it to make it more durable.

This is an 18k white gold filled ring which is not required to be stamped. Only silver needs to be stamped 925.
