This little tree bears showy pink flowers in very early spring, flowers lasting for two to three weeks. The leaves also emerge with a reddish color, giving way to a lustrous summer green, and finally to a striking fall yellow.

Uses: Flowering OrnamentalTree

Sowing Method: Scarify the seeds by nicking the shell so the embryo can grow. Place in soil in the fridge for 1 to 2 months. Dig a small hole in clay-loam or loamy-silt soil just deep enough to cover the immature root system and place the seedling in the hole.
Bloom Season: Early Spring

Care: Redbud trees grow well enough on their own without the use of fertilizer. Moreover, since the trees have the ability to absorb nitrogen on their own, adding a nitrogen-rich fertilizer will only overdose the tree.
