when i ordered mine i went from a monthly plan to a "go-phone" pre paid plan, but i think this will work for both, the card does not say go phone on it. It works fine for my prepaid, tho, I just went to the AT&T website and did the free activation.

I was given the option to choose a monthly plan or a prepaid, so I think it will work fine either way.
