Nice! This is Constantius II after he became Emperor once his father, Constantine the Great, passed away marking the coin at about 337-361 AD. Looks like you can read the full legend on the reverse and even the mint mark. Yes, this is history...
It's kinda like people are trying to lowball ya when they wait till the last few seconds to bid and this coin is just to nice to let go for just a couple hundred credits bro so if that's the case I would rather end the auction then take a huge loss on this one I have many of these and have listed a few in the past and wouldn't mind listing even more if this would be doing as well as I thought it was going to or like the last ones Did at least ya know and I know there are bidders on I see other items in the same genera they are doing well with a lot of days on them with thousands of credits
Heck my newspaper from Honolulu, Hawaii from 1941 when Pearl Harbor was attacked !! Is doing quite well many y'all would be more interested in that auction instead!!
Could be people were watching that other Constantius II coin that ended earlier today. I think this one is much better so I'm hoping you get as much or more than that other seller. Do you want the full attribution for this coin?
Front legend says DN CONSTANTIUS P F AUG. (DN = Dominus Nostrum [Our Lord]; PF AUG = Pius Felix Augustus [Pious and Blest Emperor]. The Reverse legend is FEL TEMP REPARATIO = Felix Temporum Reparatio [Return of good times]. The image is a Roman Soldier spearing a fallen enemy horseman. The coin was minted in Siscia (the SIS under the image) in 353-354 A.D. which is now called Sisak, Croatia. It looks like there may be other symbols in the background of the image and maybe the Officina mark beside the SIS. (Officina is the particular workshop that minted it). Good luck with this!
