Old Man of the Mountains
Franconia Notch, with the "Great Stone Face" of the Old Man of the Mountains, is the best known of the many tourist attractions of the White Mountains. The White Mountains are the northernmost part of the Appalachian Mountains and include the highest elevations of New England. Highest portion is the Presidential Range, which has several peaks exceeding 5,000 feet (1,520 m), including Mount Washington.
