It is just like ebay but with credits, you get the credits once the buyer clicks on "got it" after you have sent the item and they receive it. Then you Look through the sections find things you want, bid on them and win them then the people send you the item. You can offer free shipping at a higher amount of credits, or not that is strictly up to you, but now since someone has bid, you can no longer set a gin. With you being new you can do gin just yet. Hope this helps

A Listia credit is worth $1 =910 points when you buy them from Listia @ $40 at time
Listia says $1=100 points
hope that helps

On Listia points really have nothing to do with value here.
I seen $1 items get 10,000 points and $20 thing not sell for 499 points with free shipping. When you list an item you can set a starting price of 499 with no fees so you see a lot with 499 starting bid

Sageani is the rightest (?) on his explanation. Just a hint, this bow is going to cost you close to $15.00 to ship because of it's odd shape and size...it's probably NOT going to fit in one of the flat rate priority mail boxes. These jerks will pester you up one side and down the other trying to get you to give them free shipping. Thae guy that offered you 8,000 credits if you'd give free shipping can pay a $10.00 bill and instantly receive 7,700 credits, so he's offering you just slightly over $10 for both the bow, AND shipping, which will probably run in excess of $15.00...just offhand I'd say that IS NOT a good deal for you! Ignore these people and run your own auction. This is an EXCELLENT Item and auction...this is your 1st auction, so no one knows you or how trustworthy you are, which probably accounts for your lack of bids. My recommendation is that your very 1st action is to become Listia Verified: Go here to learn about it- http://www.listia.com/support/topic/verify , and then go here to actually do the Verifications- www.listia.com/account/verify. This will give people trust in you and belief that you will actually follow through with delivering the item if they make substantial bids. GOOD LUCK, AND I'D LIKE TO WELCOME YOU TO OUR LISTIA COMMUNITY. WE CAN ALWAYS USE THE ADDITION OF MORE GOOD PEOPLE, AND I CAN TELL YOU ARE!
Namaste!
Blessed be,
Victor

When the guy was trying to explain GIN to you, he left it a little sketchy. GIN means GET IT NOW- GIN! once you've completed 2 or 3 auctions successfully, you will gain the ability to offer your bidders the option of not waiting 10 or 15 days for your auction to end by agreeing to pay a predetermined 'GIN Amount' which you set by deciding how much YOU WANT FROM YOUR ITEM. For instance, for this bow, I would set the GIN at 25,000 credits (that's just me setting an arbitrary number as an example, you set your own value on the piece- you know what it cost, etc.) then, if someone comes along and decides they've just got to have it, and doesn't want to take the chance someone else might snap it up, he'll click on the GIN button. The auction will end, and things proceed as usual, except that it ends early and you often make more credits from a GIN bid. Beware, though, as there is a charge for that GIN for instance, if I set a GIN bid of 27,777, a 10% fee is assessed, and I will receive 25,000 credits (still superior to what I might have earned without the GIN).

ALSO, do you know the proper procedure when your auction ends?
1. Go to your auction page, and at the very top you will find, in ORANGE PRINT, "what do you want to do now", or something similar, and it will ask if you want to send your winner an email. Click on 'Send Email' this will send a standardized email to your winner stating that they have won, and that they need to respond with their Listia Verified Address. You can add anything you like to this standard email, such as your PayPal account email so the winner can pay S&H. Finish out the email and hit 'SEND'
2.Return occassionally to the auction page until the winner responds with his/her Listia Verified Address. It will appear in the space where you found the original message. Also keep a watch on your payPal account to catch when your s&h is paid. At any point along there you can easily email your winner and he/she can do the same to you, and ALL emails relating to this auction will appear on the auction page beneath the Listia Verified Address...this is your 'email log' The winner has 7 days to provide you with BOTH, Listia Verified Address and S&H. You, likewise, have 7 days from the time you receive those two things to ship the package. If for some reason your winner fails to respond, or does respond but fails to provide address and s&h, first try to work it out with the winner, but if it doesn't work, at that time look just above your email log, just below the address, on the far right side of the page, in very light grey letters, and you will find a statement: "Things didn't work out as you expected? Request a full refund here." Click on that button and fill out the short form (short explanation that winner failed to respond, etc...), and click submit. The winner will have 3 days to respond, and if he does not, your credits will be given to you (he loses what he bid), and you can relist your item at auction (or not if that's your choice.). Hope that helps
