Lol! Yeah well when I first started I remember having No idea what GIN meant. Lol and sadly no one helped me! I had to figure it all out over trial and error. Lol. Your welcome!!!
Oh. It's best when you reply to people's comments to CLICK on the comment you want to reply to. And a reply box will appear. This way the commenter will get notified that you replied. ;) this is so important as a new member! Since being active and replying shows bidders you are active and it's not a fake auction. If you reply the way you are- your just replying to anyone in general. If you do it right-- YOUR profile picture/ comment reply should show up on the right side of the screen. And the commenters profile picture/comment shows on the left side of the screen.
OMG!!!! Thank you soooo much!!! Im here laughing and saying wow this really helped me now - now I get it lmao thank you sooooo much for taking your time to explain this to me - that was really nice of you
To do a GIN you have to have your sellers wings. Which you don't. You are a new member. Once you have been a member for a while, & finished 5 auctions successfully with positive feedback & also won 5 auctions with positive feedbacks, Plus I believe you have to gain so many fans/fan others, and checked in a certain amount of times-- After you have done all of that you will get rewarded your sellers wings badge. ONCE you have your sellers wings, you will be able to offer a GIN on your auctions! Gin- means Get it Now. It's kinda like a "buy it now" option. When you set a auction up, you can also list a Gin for a set price. And like that lady was asking, was for a gin of 11,000. So let just say that u did set a gin at 11,000 on the auction. Than bidders can either bid as normal, & wait out the auction days to see if they win- OR they can pay the gin price (11,000 in this example) & end the auction right then & win it. Though- GIN cost the seller credits and has rules. If u set up a gin- you pay 50 credits to set it up. IF some one uses the GIN you get those 50 credits back. If no one uses the gin, you don't get the 50 credits back. Also sellers pay Listia 10% of their GIN. So say you set a GIN of 11,000. You pay Listia 1,100 (10%) out of the 11,000. So you would only get 9,900. Also, gin amounts can't be set lower than 2000 or higher than 500,000 I believe. Gin can be set up anytime BEFORE the first bid is placed. Once someone bids, nothing can be changed about the auction. When u go to list a auction, the GIN options will be near the starting bid box-when its available to you! Or you can always edit the auction and add a gin, as long as no one bid yet.
Hope that helped!! Not sure why she would ask you so many times for a GIN than not explain to you what it is? Or even notice that you were new. Most people know new members can't do a GIN. Unless that girl who asked you- is a new member too. Lol.
