Yep and no 22g are not super small, look on my auctions and you'll see some :-/ 20-22 are the most commonly used (atleast from where I'm from)

Maybe where your from...Ive been piercing all over the world for 20 years. 18g or 20g is what is most commonly used.

Yep, but then you would know if you are pierced with a 22g, one can fit into a 20g and eventually an 18g, so no, 22g is not "ultra super small" it's a common starter hole :-)

Im sorry but 22g is not a common starter hole for any piercing including the nose. Hell most regular earrings are 16g or 18g. 22g are not commonly used by experienced piercers or experienced wearers. Sorry i just disagree.

We'll just have to agree to disagree but as you said, 20g is another common starter hole as I said....plus one can not compare nose cartilage to an ear skin. The soft bone is much more delicate than just a small piece of skin. One don't want to put trauma all at once to a bone, so 20g 22g are ideal for starters...you are not the only professional body piercer my friend

Your making no since. It doesnt matter what gauge you pierce with its going to cause trauma regardless. What screws up everyones cartilage up is stretching it to the right size because some inexperienced piercer started them off to small. Yes we will agree to disagree and while i may not be the only pro piercer i do know what is right and wrong.

I wear 22g. I've never heard of 22g being small. It's what everyone I know starts with, and that includes in Arizona, Arkansas, and Alabama. O.O I've never heard of it being small.
