Because anyone can walk out of the store with one of these cards, they aren't activated until they are rung up and paid for at the register. So they can be cards with no value

I never thought about someone listing a card that has not been activated. I have won a bunch of these cards on Listia and so far have never had an issue. There are clues that we can look at to get an idea if they are ligit. One is : if the seller answers questions........

Yes 8000 is too low. It's equivalent to about $8. Too low. This should go at least 15,000-40,000 credits.

You can not offer a GIN. Your a new member. New members can't offer a gin until they get their sellers wings badge.
Which -- in order to get your wings, you have to do wind tasks- like finish and complete 5 transactions, buy/win 5 transactions, fan so many people--- things like that. Its simple enough. I got my wings within a month of being a member.

When you are able to offer a GIN, it will be visible on your list a auction page. Look down where it allows you to set the shipping fee, starting bid, amounts of days the auction runs-- and it will also say GIN. Gin has to be at least 2000 but seller pays 50 credits to list with a GIN. AND than you pay 10% of the gin amount to Listia. So if your gin is at 10,000- Listia takes 1,000 you get 9,000.

Why is everyone asking the sellers of these cards if they have the receipt?

Original
I was just saying that's why people usually ask about the receipt just to cover themselves

Hey Ruth, still never got that ring back. Question ? How do you know if your phone will take the $30 card. I've always bought the $45 card and never had a problem, but never tried the $30 one.
