That game you mentioned, I'm not really into those kind of games, RPG / wow , those kind of games. But at least I don't have to pay $30, this is well worth 5000 credits to try it

Great, you're doing a darn good job!

No problem at all. I know a lot of people have never used Steam so I try my best to help out where I can when they ask. :)

When it opens steam, does it have to stay open or can I minimize it.
Nov 17th, 2014 at 11:48:55 AM PST by

It can be minimized with no problem. Most times it does it automatically

Wow, I had no idea. Yeah I can see how steam organize your games and whatnot. I just want to make sure that I can play it easily and without steam open all the time. Let's say it is installed on my computer, I click on the icon and play trainz Simulator 12. Instead of opening stream and clicking the game
Nov 17th, 2014 at 11:43:25 AM PST by
Original
You click on the iconand it will open steam as well. The reason for this is there is a great set of tools you can access from within the game such as message boards and community groups for the game on steam. Here is what I would advise. Download the steam client. Thensearch for the game Path of Exiles. Install it and you will see what I mean about the tools. Path is a free to play game on Steam. It IS an online game but it will let ya see hwo sTeam works without having to worry about paying for a game first.

One more thing, what is the difference between the Steam client download version and if I just get the CD from eBay Amazon whatever. Does one work better update or something like that.

Steam for me has been better becasue I do not have to worry about losing my keys. the documents getting torn up, or the discs damaged.. I have close to 500 games on steam and over 4000 retail games in hard copy form. Trust me. It is HARD to keep track of them and their manuals. I have been collecting games since around 1990 so I have a lot. When I want to play a game from steam I just download it and play. When I want to play one of my older games from disc I have to find the disc find the manual and It is just generally too much trouble. And that iw with me keeping my collection in DVD stands in alphebetical order and with the books being on severa bookshelves.

Okay, the main thing is I just want to play the game like if i installed it on my computer. I don't want steam window open while I play. If it was in the background that's okay
Nov 17th, 2014 at 11:12:36 AM PST by
Original
I understand. Steam client needs to be installed, I'm just curious if I can play this on my computer without steam open
Nov 17th, 2014 at 10:46:20 AM PST by
Original
Typically the steam client needsto be opened in the background. The good thing is even if you are offline the games should still play. They have an offline mode for the steam client.

Does this have to be played online, through the steam software, or can it be played on my computer no other software required, on the desktop
Nov 17th, 2014 at 9:59:13 AM PST by
Original
Any game redeemed through steam needs the steam client installed as well.

Ok, I think I found it what it says to activate a product. Where did you get this code, was it originally from the original cd/dvd game?
Nov 17th, 2014 at 1:00:28 AM PST by
Original
The code was purchased as part of a bundle some time ago from a site that offers retail games such as greenmangaming.

Nov 17th, 2014 at 12:40:17 AM PST by

There IS no free trial for this game that I know of. There are others on steam that offer demos though. This is not one that does.

I started out playing Microsoft train simulator, but that was not as exciting as I thought it was. Was not really simulation as I thought it was. So I thought I would step up to this game, I really like the BNSF locomotive, so I've been looking for them
Nov 16th, 2014 at 11:56:08 PM PST by

Do you know if it includes BNSF trains, stuff like that or is it mostly Union Pacific and European trains and stuff like that
Nov 16th, 2014 at 11:53:13 PM PST by

I am unsure what BNSF means. Sorry. I have not had a chance to play the game myself yet.I had a spare key so am offering it to others.

Are the add ons free or can you download them for free or do you have to pay for extra for the add ons
Nov 16th, 2014 at 11:49:09 PM PST by

DLC are extras and expansions. It is typically things that came out after the base game. Those on the page for this game are not included in the key. Sorry.

Okay so where do I go to download the game though, is it on that steam website. If so it wants me to buy it in full. That is what I'm confused on
Nov 16th, 2014 at 11:18:01 PM PST by

Download the Steam CLient. http://media.steampowered.com/client/installer/SteamSetup.exe

Once that is downloaded you will have access to free games as well as the ability to redeem keys using their client. Once you add a key to steam it gives you the game and you can download it from within steam.
