OMG I had to come look at this auction! My father used to always say to me "don't take any wooden nickels" lol He passed in 2008, her in 2006. They both met in NC, she lived there in Swansboro and he was at Camp Lejeune, maybe that is where he got that saying from I dunno, but at his funeral the flowers I took home had a nickel in the plants dirt right on top like someone stuck it in there just a bit. Kinda cool and this auction brought back some memories, very nice auction! f, w & b Just have to! ◕‿◕

Many bars and saloons made these so they could collect for a drink and hope they would lose the wooden chips, nickels :)
