Nice historic 1927 10 Sen Japanese coin. A guaranteed authentic and rare Japanese 10-sen coin minted in Tokyo in 1927 in very nice condition. It is made of a copper/nickel. Having the characters, "Dai Nippon" (great Japan) and Taisho 1927 on a nami wave background. On the obverse is the unique imperial chrysanthemum mon (family crest) on the top, and on the bottom is the paulownia mon with "10 Sen" (in Japanese). This is an excellent example of this very collectible Japanese coin (please see enlarged pictures). It is in nice condition, please see pictures to grade, with little to moderate wear. Measures 3/4" in diameter (2 cm) slightly larger than a US nickel. Great collectible, investment or gift!
I bought a box of coins from a client years ago that she had gotten from a relative that sailed the oceans aboard merchant ships from the late 1800's to WWII. This is one of the coins he collected.
