I saw one and the person selling this kind of box said it was turn of the century
late 1800-early 1900

I personally don't think it's turn of the century. Probably mid 20th century. If it is older, someone will get a super good deal!

I don't have an exact size - Probably like 4.375 x 5.75 inches? Not completely sure - it would store those small letters.

As much as you want it, as a seller, I have to encourage bids, as I'm doing the same thing - letting go of items but in the hope of getting credits for other gifts for Christmas for family. So, I encourage everyone to bid. It goes both ways.

It fits a regular size (short, not business) envelope. As it doesn't have the velvet lining it was actually a letter box. Women would keep their letters from their husbands who were at war in this type box. This one is probably 1980's. I used to have one EXACTLY like it!

That sounds about right. It's the smaller envelope size for sure. It wouldn't fit a standard letter 10 size envelope. I don't have an exact year - 80s is a good guess. I grew up in the 80s.
