The listing, NEW! Knifty Knitter Specialty Looms - STRAW WEAVER - Make Belts Headbands & Much More! FREE SHIPPING has ended.

NIP Knifty Knitter - Straw Weaver - Makes Belts, Headbands and more!! EASY TO USE! . Comes with a free package of those Big Sequins. There is a "blue yarn needle" mentioned in the directions, but not included in the package, nor is it mentioned, as stated above. So you can start using this away, I will include a metal yarn needle.n.

It looks simple in the video on youtube, and as described in both the provided instructions and the hubpages web sites. Amazon, who is out of stock, has 3 reviews who all say it is easy to use, and would be appropriate for kids over 5. Provo Craft doesn't give an age I see, and that age is a single person's opinion, so I can't guarantee your 5 year old will be able to do this craft. All of the reviewers did think children would enjoy it, as well as adults.

It seems to be more of a weaving device than knitting. You thread bulky yarn through the number of straws you have decided to use, with the hook, and taking the "bead" off the cap off and thread the cord through.the straw, I believe replacing the bead. You then put your straws back into the clamp and and close it. You take your second type of yarn, which will be thinner, and start wrapping that around the straws. Your filler cord (the one you thread through the straws) will be pulled through the straws as you go, and you remove the clamp after a couple of inches of weaving, allowing the woven yarn to hold your project. Have Fun!
