FREE: Antique Hand Made Match Safe

The listing, Antique Hand Made Match Safe has ended.

For your consideration is an unusual little item. I was told by an antique dealer that it is a match safe. She said that in the days before Bic lighters, people used these containers to keep their matches dry.

This little container is made of silver metal, which I believe is silver plated.

The measurements are 2.5" tall & 1/2" wide

The container is decorated with a raised floral/leaf pattern covering the outside. The cap fits on tightly and is imprinted with a very detailed flower.

I believe this piece to be hand made because of the seam closure on the inside (see pictures).
