Vitex, also called monk's pepper or chaste, are rapid growers, with proper fertilizing & care.Trees can grow 10' -15' tall and 15'- 20' wide as trees (see 1st photo). These need proper pruning to keep them as trees, otherwise they will be beautiful, full bushes (see 2nd photo).

In Arizona it blooms in late spring with pointing lavender flowers (last photo). This plant is hardy in USDA zones 7 to 11; it grows where the temperature does not drop below 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Vitex trees can grow throughout Arizona except in the coldest regions in the north.

*Important Note: The leaves of this plant are very similar to canibus (marijuana), so be sure to have some kind of information on you that has the name of the plant, etc. if you ever drive with them once they are grown & potted, LOL.
