The listing, Arthur (2011) digital code/no dvd w/Russell Brand! has ended.

Arthur is a rich, alcoholic playboy with no regards to his working life. After another drunken run-in with the law, his aloof mother has had enough and forces him to marry Susan, a proper business woman, or else he will lose his inheritance. Just as he's engaged to Susan, he meets Naomi, a free-spirited girl who Arthur thinks is perfect for him. Any attempts at holding down a job are fruitless, so Arthur has to decide, what is more important: love, or his mother's money. /On a personal note: I have seen this movie OVER 10x, & I LOVE it! Bloody Brilliant! Once the bidding has ended, the winner will receive a "redemption code" to enter on either of these 2 FREE sites: vudu.com OR flixster.com. MUST REDEEM by March 11, 2015! and now for something completely different ~ 12 bits of trivia. While sulking in his Batmobile after Hobson gives him an aspirin and vitamin, Arthur played by Russell Brand, scrolls through his phone to look for Naomi's number and we briefly see Katy Perry, Brand's then-wife, listed as a contact. Arthur states his father died at the age of 44 in homage to Steve Gordon who directed the original Arthur (1981) and also died at the age of 44. During the dinner scene at Grand Central Station, the background music that is playing is an instrumental version of the Christopher Cross song, "Arthur (1981)'s Theme (Best That You Can Do)".

In order to see the dedication in Naomi's book, Arthur moves a pop-up moon over a Manhattan skyline scene. This is a tribute to the line "If you get caught between the moon and New York City," in Christopher Cross' "Arthur (1981)'s Theme" song. This film marks the second time, in only two years, that a character previously played by John Gielgud has been re-written as a woman and cast with Helen Mirren. Gielgud had previously played Prospero in Prospero's Books (1991), while Mirren played Prospera in Julie Taymor's The Tempest (2010). Shipped to theaters under the code name "On the Rocks" - a reference to Arthur 2: On the Rocks (1988). Naomi mentions that her favorite place to shoplift is Bergdorf Goodman's department store. When we meet Linda, Arthur's love interest in the original Arthur (1981), she is shoplifting a tie from that store. Ricky Gervais turned down the lead role. He told the press, "I said 'no' straight-away. Why would I mess with a perfect comedy? They know people don't watch films that have the wrong font - it's got an '80s font". Kevin Smith was approached to direct at one point. The 'Arthur' films are considered a modern reworking of the P.G. Wodehouse's Jeeves and Wooster tales, Arthur is the equivalent of Bertie Wooster and his servant Hobson the equivalent of Jeeves.

The table saw that Burt Johnson (Nick Nolte) threatens Arthur with is a real saw. It is called a SawStop and is designed to instantly apply a break and stop the saw blade within milliseconds of coming in contact with a human appendage. However, it works more by detecting the natural electrical current in the human body and not so much by moisture as stated in the movie. Theatrical film debut of director Jason Winer.
