Hi. I live in Idaho. Much cooler climate than "lucky you" in Florida. Do you think these will grow well here? Doesn't reach over 55 degrees here, until late May. Then up to 70 in June. We do get a summer...it's just very short.

Hello in Idaho :)

I have friends in in the north who grow these and the trick is, if the ground freezez then be sure to save your seed to replant in the Spring or better yet grow in a pot that can be taken in during the winter. I grow mine in pots on a covered porch and in the ground. Here, even our coldest winters get to 17 degrees but that is not often and it's only a night or two. I cover mine when the temps drop below 30, but otherwise, I just keep them in a pot on the porch out any freezing wind or frost. I would think you can do the same, just bring them indoors if it freezes. They do not require a ton of water, in fact I only water mine once a week in the winter, the leaves will droop a little if they need more then will perk back up after you water them. They are easy to grow and care for. May be slow to germinate and at first may seem to not be growing but once they get about four inches tall they really take off! Hope this helps, please feel free to ask any other questions :)
