and yes it works fine, my son was never into elmo though, he likes cookie monster more than elmo, its pretty much in brand new condition.

Does this have a pull string or does it work on batteries? How many different things does it say ? Does it work okay ?

It is battery operated. and I am not quite sure I cant remember how many things it says but I know it says "elmo is sleepy" and then it has like a lullaby song also that I can remember of,
