this has been hanging on our wall and all of a sudden it stopped working

the cuckoo bird comes out of the door on top every hour - the door has the initials "AS" carved into it

a chimney sweep comes up out of the chimney and then goes down on the hour

everything is there for this clock

on the back it is stamped in black with a "2" surrounded by a circle and the numbers "70631302025

there is a sticker with brief instructions in what i am sure is English and german; and what I think is French but I am not sure

the back of the clock has felt circles so it does not lean too heavy on the wall

the acorns on the bottom attached by chains are heavy and measure approx. 4-1/2 inches long

the front has a carved painted spruce tree on the left - and a boy playing a violin while a bird sitting on a log watches him on the right - there are plants, hearts, flowers and berries all around the clock (sorry my pictures aren't better) - it is a beauty !

measures are approx. 6-2/3 inches from the peak of the roof to the base

the slope of each side of the roof measures approx. 5-1/2 inches

the depth of the house is approx. 3-1/2 inches

feel free to ask questions - this does not work, but it was working for a long while - no buyers remorse !

I had a cuckoo clock. What I found out is after three years they tend to stop working, if they are real, and need tune-ups and sometimes parts replaced. They don't run forever, sad to say, so I got rid of mine. But it still doesn't mean I don't want one.

thanks for the info - we have a mantle clock (a seth Thomas I think) and it chimed, I wanted it fixed and the guy fixed it and when I got it home it didn't chime right, it used to have a turn up and down thing on it and this just went "gong gong gong" it was awful- happy listia-ing !

the bidding has amazed me on this item. i have two cuckoo clocks and thought i will get this one and fix it if i could or give it as a gift to my dad who fixes clocks and has wanted a cuckoo. well that was a nice idea because im new and soon ran out of credits :( bummer

people ask me why I sell so much on listia, I told them it is because I BUY so much ! the story about the cuckcoo is that It broke and I took it off the wall around Christmas time. I was on listia and spied someone else who was selling one - I thought how nice it would be if someone could fix this one and continue to enjoy it - so here it is :)

I have the cuckoo clock that hung in my grandfather's house for over 30 years and then was relocated to my house after he crossed the Rainbow Bridge. It worked perfectly until my 2 year old son decided he wanted to wind it by pulling the wrong way on the weight chains. Now, it chimes the hour ever 30 minutes. So it's timing is way off. But we have a clockmaker here and he told me he can fix it. As soon as I can afford it, I will have it fixed. I would love to give your clock a home. Sadly though I have all of my credits tied up in other auctions and will not have enough to bid on this until after it is over. I am literally gut sick that I did not see this first !!! Anyway, I hope whomever gets this beautiful clock gets it repaired and loves it as well as you did. F&W please fan back.

if you look at some of my other comments, I put this clock up for auction because I just happened upon someone else who did the same thing and got enough credits to cover the cost of heavy and careful shipping plus made a little for her/himself - so that's what gave me the idea, maybe someone else will list theirs ! thx !

I know I never dusted it because I was afraid I would break it - it takes no batteries so that can't be it, I just don't know, I figure if someone is handy they might be able to fix it. wonder if they have "how to fix cuckoo clocks" books out there, they have everything else ! thanks for your interest !
