Description
The listing, 1939 Jefferson Nickel with no mint mark (Read description for details!) has ended.
This is a 1939 US nickel with Thomas Jefferson. It was the 2nd year that Jefferson was featured on the nickel. Prior to 1938 the nickel had a Native American pictured on the nickel.
This specific nickel has no mint mark because it was minted in Philadelphia, which did not begin mint marking coins before their 1979/80.
The coin is in good condition for its age and while it's not worth thousands of dollars, it is a great piece for any collector or enthusiast.
Thank you very much for your reply and for the fan I appreciate it! I had read about the mint marks on "war nickels" from 1942 to 1945 but they didn't regularly appear on Philadelphia minted coins until 1979/80. This was what I found from my research but it could be wrong, I did forget to mention the war nickel mint marks so I appreciate you mentioning it!
