Description

The listing, Vintage American Eagle Glass Lighter has ended.

This great lighter is vintage, but not original. It is a "marriage." The blue glass piece is a toothpick holder. Someone decided to turn it into a lighter quite a while back. The lighter portion is stamped "Japan," there are no marks on the glass. I have seen this pattern listed online as LE Smith glass and also Kanawa glass. Kanawa started in1953. To my eye, the glass looks older, so I would guess that this is LE Smith, but this is only a semi-educated guess, you will have to decide for yourself. It measures approximately 3 1/4" tall and 2" in diameter. The glass is in great condition, no chips, cracks, or damage. The lighter has a bit of corrosion/rust. As always, shipping is free!

How does the lighter fit in the glass? i.e. does it spin easily, or fit snugly? Thanks.

Thanks for visiting my auction! The piece that is directly on the glass is firmly attached, it does not move at all. I don't know how it was attached-epoxy maybe?. The upper part fits snugly.

Thanks for checking out my auction! I don't know if it works. There is no lighter fluid in it. The lever pushes down to raise the cover over the wick, but it is stiff from lack of use. The wick is clean, and the lighter does not look like it was actually used. I think it sat on a collector's shelf.
