This is a kindle reader. Basically new but opened box. I have the box from amazon. Can go on google

You can hook up to WIFI and go on google. So this would be great for a kid that loves reading.

I have the box for it so if your going to give it as a gift then I have the original box.

I got this for my nephew never used it. I have no clue what generation it is or if they do that with kindle. But this is not the kindle fire. Just the reader

I do not have the charger for it. But I will charge it before I ship it and I will turn it off so it has full battery when you get it. It does come with it's original manuel. I am charging it with my tablet charger. So I guess if you have a tablet that is RCA then it will charge you Kindle also.

I really like this reader. But my nephew is pushing me to buy him a IPAD instead because he doesn't like to read. But I don't see an IPAD can help him read.

So this was to help monitor him reading.

Just so people stop asking, it requires a micro USB charger. Most android phones now a days use the same charger so you shouldn't have a problem finding a charger. If you don't have one, you can buy one from eBay for a dollar or two.

Can you take a picture of the charging port so those of us that have charging cords can see if it is like one we have at home--and a new cord will not be needed to replace our broken one?

I have the Kindle Paperwhite which has the backlight like people are asking. This one does not, so you wouldn't be able to read it in the dark. But still an awesome reader! I'm bidding & watching til the end. My brother has been wanting one for a while. Hope I can get this for him.

Great auction! My husband has a Kindle Fire and loves it! He is bedridden, so he spends lot of time reading. Cuddos to you for trying to get your nephew interested in reading! I would like to have this for my 9-year-old granddaughter. She, too, loves to red, just like your niece, so this would be a great gift for her this Christmas. I'm glad to see that you have misgivings about getting an iPad for your nephew. With an iPad, he would be able to get on the internet and do all sorts of things that might not be so good for him to be doing. I have nephews, too, and if they asked me to get them an iPad, I would definitely have to check with my sister before I got them one, just to make sure she had no objections. I can't believe all of these people asking the same questions and asking for more pictures! All of their questions have been answered multiple times, yet they still have to ask them again. I'll never understand how some people think---or, better yet, why some people just don't seem to think at all! LOL!! Does this Kindle have inside light or do you have to use an attachable light , I have two kindles one has inner light and one does not , but my sister is wanting one really bad so I am very interested in this . Nice auction ! F&W.

You can also use your computer to charge this Kindle. I have this very same one. It does not have an earbud port. It does have speakers for audible books. You can also get tons of FREE books at the kindle storefront. Just click on the best sellers tab and it will show you the best sellers for purchase. However, on the upper right hand side there is a tab that says Top 100 Free books. Click on that and it will show you the top 100 free books in the kindle storefront. It changes hourly. You will also need to ship this by ground. If you charge the battery and then ship through the air, the battery could explode and destroy the device. Happened to me. Great auction and thank you for sharing.

It looks great. But I already have an iPad Air and my daughter has an iPad and my stepson has a Samsung tablet. So I'm debating whether I will actually get any use out of it. I want it but I'm not sure I need it. I'll consider it though and see how it goes. It's a very good auction and I'm sure you'll get plenty for it. :)

Honest truth I have an apple air also. I have this also and I mainly just use this KINDLE it to save my reading data. This was my nephew but he doesn't like to read and sometimes these are better for kids so you can track there reading I think. Like his sister has the same KINDLE and she loves her KINDLE because she loves to read. So I'm guessing it depends on the person. If anything you can give it as a gift to someone special because I do have the box so it be a great gift too... TAKE CARE!!!

Can you post a picture of what the charging slot looks like? I have multiple charging cords--I use to have a kindle original and lost charger but my nook charger worked on my kindle. Lol. I want to see if it looks the same so I can use that charger. Thx.
