I feel like just in the last week or two it has become even more outrageous. Might have something to do with the changes with the Listia Rewards. People are bidding outrageous amounts for those things.

Saddest part is, now it'll never go back to how it used to be. It'll only continue to increase. :(

I know! I can't stand the rewards store! Sad thing is that I got 2 wii systems. Flat screen tv. Bunch of Xbox games. Cordless vacuum. Blue ray player and countless other awesome things from it about a year ago! Even gift cards used to have a gin on them and they were for the exact amount $50 was 50000 credits! All about the money not bass! Lol

I am with you 100%! I wish Listia would put a cap on what their allowed to ask for the GIN on a gift card. I joined a few years ago also, and I can honestly say, I have been able to be a stay at home mommy because of Listia (and another site that I sell my clothes and shoes and purses on) but mostly Listia. I post the stuff we don't use or can't wear and save my credits for Amazon gift cards and get things we need & want (the things we can't afford on just my hubby's income) not to mention, last spring my house burnt down and a few wonderful women I met on here sent us clothes and shoes for free! I also was able to replace alot of the things we lost in the fire because of Listia (slowly and still working on it) but ever since Christmas, the gift cards that NORMALLY go down after the holidays, did not go down. They actually got worse. I wish everyone who buys the gift cards would boycott them and refuse to pay what their asking, maybe then they would go back down. Not to mention, that it makes everyone else have to up their auctions just to be able to get enough credits to be able to get something for themselves. It's just sickening. Sorry, I'm done venting, lol

I agree 100%. When I first joined Listia a few years ago a $5 gift card would go for 3000. When Listia added the rewards section with GIN on their gift cards they would list a $5 card at 5000GIN. Once they made the auctions bid only, the economy skyrocketed. I was shocked when $5 went for 10k and totally floored now that the $5 goes for 15k-25k. It really hurts the value of all non gift card auctions.

Finally a gift card thats an auction. So rare this days. I cant help but reminisce too after seeing all the comments. Last Christmas I got everyone gift cards here on listia. Yesterday I saw a $200 gift card go for 888,888k .Sadly, theres no way everyone can afford those now. Even selling my husband and my first born would probably be not enough. We should start a petition with Listia to atleast set a value to these credits. Its

I am starting to see sellers having to relist them with smaller GINS because

Thanks so much for posting this. I not sure if they have such things for post office but that would be awesome.
My husband pays to ship my stuff out and to support me so I like to give back. I also some times post moms stuff she likes Wal-Mart. So the gift cards help. I was wondering what about the game store gift cards like "Just Press Play" or. "Game Stop"? I not sure if you have them stores or not and if that's a possibility or not. I just wondered. I have not listed a Gift Card in a long time (probably Jan) Mine did not get too high because I was new ,Well I did list a Starbucks one in Feb maybe but I took a reasonable (low) GIN but for the past month Gift Cards like Shell etc.. have gone 4-5 times the value .I only wish I had joined back in the day !!

Yea it was FUN back a year ago now it's all competition and I had a friend that was listing her gift cards with an actual LOW GIN and was getting bullied by other sellers. It was ridiculous! She stopped listia all together. But I am going to be listing real LOW GINS very soon! It cracks me up I see "LOW GIN" on the end of a $5 gift card and the gin is 23000! For a $5! Get out of here! Sometimes I just have to open my mouth about it! I'm trying to get a bunch of people I know to list with real low gins maybe we can kinda get it back to the way it was :/

Yea I became active about 3 years ago best thing ever because whenever my bank account was like in the red lol I would gin a gift card and could still go shop for things I needed. Even the ones I trusted to always help people out have gone way too high. They really need a cap on how high gift cards can go! :)

And I thought it was just me that really thought the price on gift card was reasonable, 3 to 4 times the value!!! I lucked out 2 months ago and pick up several small amount gift cards for fairly reasonable amount of points. But the tag on $50.00 and above was totally beyond reason~

Thank you. And for the record, even though I sell gift cards, I think the prices are WAY too high too. I've only been on Listia since November and since then, I've seen the prices at least triple. I'll admit to being part of the problem with putting my GINs high but I'm considering stopping GINs all together because of that very reason. Let people bid it out and what they bid to, they bid to. Otherwise, some folks never even have a chance, But it is out of control for sure - one of the $25 shell cards I am bidding on just went up over 100K. I mean come ON people! It's ridiculous!

Yes I know it's horrible! :( seeing gift cards with gins of over 4 times the amount I want to cry! This is NOT how it used to be at all. I was getting gift card for diapers and food and clothes for my daughter too who is now 4 and out of diapers but still can always use clothes and food Ya know!? It's the people who gin them that are the idiots! You can't make a handmade necklace or old clothes to sell 4 times the amount there should be caps on gift card gins I swear.
