Essential oils are a complex subject and they vary greatly between each other.
It would be highly preferable if Listians would research each essential oil before use. - Not only for their own safety and understanding, but also because I have already hit the character limit for auction descriptions.

I recommend Sleep Deep blend! This is a blend I formulated myself to help with my insomnia. It's great for anxiety, too!

Of single oils: Lavender, Bergamot, Grapefruit, and Cedarwood, are all great choices!

I agree with you about it having nothing to do with quality whether it's ingestable! I am just learning about different oils and I have a very large and thorough book to guide me about each oil, what it is used for, and it can be overwhelming when you start out. I did notice a trend with the mlm oils and some claims that when you look up that oil it definitely says not to ingest under any circumstances. Seeing a company selling that oil as such makes me Leary of all their products...that and the prices for them get crazy.

Thank you. :) Yes, essential oils is a very deep subject, there is even controversial information found in many books.

Today, there is no governing body that regulates the essential oil industry. Because of this, companies can and will say just about anything to sell more oil.

I've even found companies selling "organic essential oils", whose compounds were actually synthetic. This is very misleading advertising. However, the definition of an "organic compound" in chemistry simply means the compound contains carbon.

The use of essential oils and the plants they are derived from have a long recorded history, extending back to biblical times. I find this written history to be quite valuable in understanding the uses of various oils.

For anyone just becoming involved in essential oils, Google is their friend! :)

We are a small, family-owned company. We track down growers and distillers all over the world. Because of this, it would be very difficult to give the exact distillation settings, even of a particular oil.
However, we do MS/GC testing on every batch of each individual oil. This information should be all that is needed to express the quality of the oil, as it gives the exact chemical constituents of any given batch of any individual oil.

In regard to distillation rate:
The distillation process can be a bit different for each oil. Most oils are steam distilled, though the precise control of each distillation may vary, depending on which plant is undergoing processing.
For example, very volatile oils will generally need to be distilled at lower temps and/or pressure. Less volatile oils are able to withstand a more extreme environment, and benefit from a faster distillation, as fewer essential compounds are lost into the steam.
The distilleries we use are professional, controlled, and very experienced. The MS/GC test results display that. :) (As well as our customer feedback!)

Additionally, many oils are able to be extracted via cold pressing. Meaning that they literally "squeeze" the liquids out. This method has little impact on the oil.

If you have any questions or would like MS/GC reports on any oils, please ask! We have recently transitioned to a new site layout, and I haven't uploaded the reports yet. They are always available upon request.
