So I found this iPod in an old car at my dad's shop. I don't know what generation this is because it will NOT turn on. From what I can tell it is broken. It's probably repairable. Good Luck and happy bidding :)

Have you tried connecting this to iTunes? What sort of response you get usually reveals what sort of issue the iPod has. If no power, it's either a dead battery (in need of service) or a failed logic board. If it hangs on the apple logo then goes to an error screen the HDD is crashed and needs replaced. Sorry for the long dialogue, I have experience with a few iPod errors.

I see. Its either a battery needing replaced or dead logic board. Good parts iPod for those who can repair one. Bidding on this, can likely bring it back to life if not use the parts to jump a dead one I have dismantled in front of me....lol

Quick reminder for those bidding, this is a non-working unit. Those who bid and pursue this must understand that the iPod is either for parts or for someone who can repair the unit. They're not easy to open- not the Video/Classic models though once you can crack the casing it's 1-2-3 to repair certain things about them.

Easy to fix, might have been something jammed though with the casing open it should take only a minute if not a little longer. May need replaces but it's only possible and not a definite.
