Questions & Comments
Wow, triplet 2 above has no idea. Tanzanite doesn't change color. Alexandrite does. This is a beautiful ring; just might have to win it! Sorry, for speaking up; i just think people like that are what takes the enjoyment away from listia!! Fanned you and will be bidding!
Tanzanite is a very beautiful and unique stone. It is a bluish-purple color, however the larger and/or better quality the stone is the higher the saturation, therefore it will actually be darker and more on the blue side. A AAA quality tanzanite is the best you can get and is a gorgeous purplish-blue color so when you turn it in the light you can see the two different hues. Alexandrite contains many facets of colors...much like a diamond...as can be seen when turned in the light... So both commenters were, essentially, correct. Anyway, this is a lovely auction and if I had the credits I would so bid on this Fabulous ring so thank you! Another fun fact is that tanzanite also became December's (my) birthstone in 2005, I believe, but could be mistaken on the year.
Yes I have seen some tanzanite and it will look purple and then next thing you look at it and it looks blue so that's the information I've got from other jewelry stores
I own A LOT of tanzanite. No, it NEVER changes color. Light, no light, turning, moving or flipping around. It's always the color it present it to be. There are different shades, but none of them change color in any way. Alexandria is the stone you're thinking of. THAT changes color and only that.
my wife would LOVE this ring, can you by chance take a pic of it on your finger so we can see how it looks against flesh instead of just sitting on stuff?
Okay that makes me feel better I will be watching and bidding is there a way where you could take it into a jewelry shop and just ask them if its genuine they won't charge you for that I do that all the time I get stuff from Listia and I take it in to find out if it's genuine if it's not and they say it is I return it and get my credits back
