This was the first Stephen King book I read. Once I was done I started reading the rest of his books, and from the biographical info in this book you can get an idea of how he used a lot of his everyday life to inspire his writing. It's also a good handbook for beginning writers, and a hilarious read in more than a few parts. Great book, great auction!

Thank you. I've long been a fan of his but as a budding writer myself, I decided to read this when I took a creative writing class recently & gained alot of insight into his mind!-LOL!

I like how you can recognize different jobs he's held in the past in his stories, like the laundry mill (The Mangler, Graveyard Shift, etc.) and how he uses some of his relatives' names as character names in certain stories too. And I love his incredibly smart-a**ed sense of humor... hahahaha. I'd love to sit down to coffee with him for an hour or two.

He is an awesome individual and the Edgar Allen Poe of his day. His writing style is epic.
