I have run into two sellers on Listia that claim they are listing gemstones but when the buyer has them checked out by a reputable jeweler they turn out to be virtually worthless glass! And there are two sellers I've bought from on Listia that so far sell only gemstones and they are honest and ethical and truthful. I have reported the two baddies to Listia, along with many others and one has been suspended while Listia investigates and the other is heading in the same direction. I am not calling you dishonest, but I am leery now, can't help it. I will read your feedback received and if good, will probably bid. Thanks for letting me get all this off my chest.

Not a problem,
I bought these on ebay and as far as I know they are authentic, I have not had them checked or tried to sell them but I do know that ebay is very strict about scams and frauds so if they said it was real and there was any sign it was not their auction would have been removed.

P.S. Are the emeralds and sapphire also transparent or opaque? Are there any visible to the naked eye occlusions? Thanks.

They are very small so you really can't really see anything besides the base color with the naked eye, unfortunately I do not have a magnifying glass to tell you any details about clarity or condition other than that they seem to be round cut stones.

Rubies, Diamonds, Sapphires and Emeralds are in the precious gems category. The more common gemstones such as: Citrine, Topaz in its various colors, Amethyst, Peridot, Andalusite, Garnet; Turquoise and other opague gems such as onyx, agate, jasper, carnelian, chalcedony, etc, etc, etc, are in the semi-precious category. There are hundreds of gemstones of various kinds, the vast majority of which most of us have never heard of, but nonetheless of value in varying amounts of money, or credits, LOL. Durability, beauty, rareness or abundance of, saturation of color, occlusions or lack thereof and other factors determine the worth of a gemstone. In buying the transparent gemstones the first thing to consider, after cost per carat, is color saturation though not so dark the color is hard to make out. If the stone is pale the color saturation is bad and therefore worth less. The stone above has good color saturation and gorgeous faceting but looks more like Citrine than yellow Sapphire to me, but I am not a professional gemologist so with this latter remark, take it with a grain of salt as I could be wrong. I hope my comment has been helpful to the fellow Listians who read it. :))

The image above is a stock image simply to show a gemstone and to get people to investigate the auction further.

The description tells what the items you will recieve are (to my knowledge) and breaks down the aproximate size and so on.

I can say that the gems I have, however small they are, do have very good bright color to them and to my knowledge are the genuine article though I have not had them checked at any sort of jewelry store.
I simply rely on ebay's known tendencies to take care of it's buyers over it's seller when it comes to conterfiet, falsely listed and fraudulent item auctions to say they are real.

When dealing with ebay they will not hesitate to suspend your account if they find that you are selling fraudulent items so I am fairly confident that information provided to me would be true.

P.S. Are the emeralds and the blue sapphire also transparent or are they opaque? Thanks.

The sapphire and emeralds seem to have a more solid color to them,
The color of the emeralds is a lighter, sort of spearmint green if you will.
While the blue sapphire is a fairly deep color.

However You have to keep in mind that I am not an expert myself and that I have only looked at them with the naked eye and not with any type of magnifying tools.
They are very small so further inspection without some kind of magnifying tool would be useless.

Seeing as this is your last comment I would like to add,
Thanks for all the inciteful questions, sorry I could not answer them better.

Could you put pictures up of the actual gems that will be received in this auction?

The actual gems fairly small and my camera really sucks,
All you would see is blurry specs
